Wood Pellet manufacturer Verdo Renewables has seen significant growth throughout 2011. The company’s head office is based in Denmark but now has two major manufacturing plants in the UK.
Both sites, one in Grangemouth, Scotland and the other in Andover, Hampshire have the capacity to produce over 55,000 tonnes of wood pellets and 15,000 tonnes of briquettes respectively. The company is also now hoping to engage over 150 new retailers to stock products in addition to the 34 already supplying Verdo pellets and briquettes.
With UK households still very reliant on fossil fuels for energy, Verdo hopes to encourage more homes and businesses to consider wood fuels which are far more environmentally friendly and rated as carbon neutral products. Wood pellets are available in 10kg bags and briquettes in packs of 6 which can be bulk ordered directly from Verdo for commercial applications. A network of smaller retailers for domestic orders can be found by contacting Verdo for a local supplier.
With the Governments Renewable Heat Incentive about to be launched, Verdo is confident that the demand for wood pellets and briquettes will significantly increase across the UK over 2012. Already the firm can boast some major supply contracts won, notably the Girvin Community Hospital in Scotland and the Eriska Hotel on the Isle of Eriska.
Verdo Renewables is dedicated to encouraging the UK to meet its carbon emission targets and with the promotion and national supply of products alongside the incentives available, the company is looking to secure market share in this field.
